Twist Tie MD2: inPEST’s innovative solution for the food industry

Pheromones are an advanced solution for the control of moth infestations (Plodia interpunctella and Ephestia kuehniella) in the food industries.

Twist Tie MD2 by inPEST is an innovative solution that involves the diffusion of a high quantity of synthetic pheromone using high-dose dispensers and is therefore an advanced and targeted response to the problem of moths, particularly suitable for industries with high safety standards.

Twist Tie MD2 releases high doses of synthetic sexual pheromone into the environment through controlled-release diffusers, saturating the air with this lure and saturating the sensory receptors of male moths.

This process induces ‘sexual confusion‘ that reduces mating between insects and keeps the storage and production area safe year-round, even during periods of lower pest activity.

This technique uses overdoses of synthetic pheromones to interfere with the reproductive behaviour of males, blocking their ability to identify females and thus preventing reproduction.

Maintaining a high concentration of pheromone in industrial environments all year round means laying the foundations for effective and timely control and being prepared for changes in temperatures or other environmental factors.
